Ja Morant’s boyfriend was arrested for a 2022 brawl at the All-Star home

A close friend of Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was arrested on a warrant for a brawl during a basketball game at the player’s home last year.

Vomte Pack, whom Morant has referred to as “my brother,” was booked into the Shelby County Jail on Wednesday for assault in connection with the July 2022 altercation in which a teenager alleges in a lawsuit that the All-Star Warden and Pack would have beaten him.

The arrest warrant was issued for the 24-year-old pack on July 10. That was the same day that Morant’s attorneys argued in a civil court that the teenager’s lawsuit against Morant should be dismissed because the security guard acted in self-defense after the teenager threw a basketball that hit Morant in the chin.

Pack is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. No criminal charges have been filed against Morant.

Morant’s accuser was 17 when the lawsuit was filed. Morant and Pack are charged with assault, reckless endangerment, abuse or neglect, and inflicting emotional distress. In an amended complaint, the plaintiff has been identified as Joshua Holloway, who is now 18 years old.

Morant filed a countersuit alleging defamation, assault, and assault against Holloway.

The NBA suspended Morant for 25 games after a second video showing him holding a handgun was posted online. Video of Morant sitting in the passenger seat of a car was posted after he served an eight-game ban in March for livestreaming a handgun at a Denver-area strip club handgun pointed.

Morant apologized for both incidents.
