Are the Utah jazz go trading Donovan Mitchell?
Although general manager Danny Ainge was reportedly looking to rebuild around Mitchell after trading three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert for a trove of plates and picks, insiders now think “Spida” could be had for the right price.
With players like DeAndre Ayton and Kevin Durant still potentially switching teams, it’s time to add Mitchell to the list of blockbuster moves that futures bettors are drooling over. A handful of squads frantically search their closets to see if they have the parts available to help the Jazz rebuild their entire team.

At +150, it’s no surprise that the New York Knicks are considered the favorites to land Mitchell as there have been rumors they have been interested in him for years. He is from the NYC area and his father worked for the New York Mets. In addition, he is represented by the former sports agency of current Knicks President Leon Rose. The breadcrumbs are here.
The question everyone is asking is what does it take to pull off this blockbuster? Well, the Knicks are one of the few teams that have the draft picks, young talent and cache to make such a move. But would a team featuring Donovan and Jalen Brunson really be a title contender with little help from traded draft picks?

It was noted early in the offseason that the Utah Jazz weren’t interested in acting the sole face of their franchise, but that no longer appears to be the case. The Jazz are now taking calls for Donovan Mitchell…
Pat Riley and the Miami Heat (+250 on FOX Bet) are the other strong favorites to poach Mitchell from Utah. DraftKings Sportsbook also has Miami as a favorite to land him. With its great weather, world-class training facilities and masterful squad, this would be the perfect landing spot for Donovan. The Miami Heat were minutes away from a trip to the NBA Finals, and adding Spida to the Jimmy Butler-led group would give the team the offensive spark it needs.
Sure, Miami would include Tyler Herro, but having few draft picks means there’s likely a third team involved in every deal. If Miami is able to nab Mitchell, make sure you get your heat futures as soon as possible. Miami is currently at +1100 to win it all at FOX Bet.
DraftKings Sportsbook also has the Toronto Raptors as a potential landing spot (+3000) which could be a sneaky good bet. We think TDOT is a strong long shot bet because we’ve seen it on this game in the past. General manager Masai Ujiri returned in the summer of 2018 to bring Kawhi Leonard from San Antonio, which led to the franchise’s first NBA title.
Toronto has young talent, a wealth of tips and would be a perfect match for someone of Donovan’s caliber. If the Raptors are able to win it, they would instantly improve on their fifth place finish in the conference. Toronto would also be considered an East contender for a while as its timeline aligns with most of the team’s core. Again, the only question will be how much are the Raptors willing to give up to make this deal happen?
From a gambling perspective, the Jazz ends up being 177-168 against the spread when Mitchell plays, but more importantly, 218-127 since his call-up (according to FOX Sports Research). Donovan is 25 and the team has won 63% of the games he’s played in, so they should get good loot in return if they’re traded.
