Several NBA players have hit the hardwood in the offseason circuit leagues — and hit it hard.
Here’s a summary of who played where.
Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren join me Jaden McDaniels in Seattle
2022 NBA draft No. 1 and No. 2 picks Banchero and Holmgren were present at TheCrawsOver Pro-Am League, which is chaired by former NBA guard Jamal Crawford. In fact, the best draft choices got together and put on a show.
Here are some of the highlights from their Saturday soiree.
McDaniels also made a plausible idea for himself.
The Minnesota Timberwolves’ wing showed ability to handle the rock and hit the dribble, which he did below.
Donovan Mitchell closes the Miami Pro League
The Miami Heat are among teams reportedly looking to trade for Mitchell, and the guard has put on a show in the Miami Pro League.
There were plenty of highlights for the Utah jazz superstar, who was joined by Miami’s Bam Adebayo (coincidence?!) and Cavs star Darius Garland.
In addition, the crowd serenaded Mitchell with chants and urged him to come to Miami. Five years into his NBA career, Mitchell has made three All-Star Game appearances.
Outside of Miami, the New York Knicks pursued a deal with Mitchell.
Isaiah Thomas dominates the Drew League
Five years ago, Thomas was one of the NBA’s top point guards. He was a fearless goalscorer and the driving force behind the Boston Celtics’ offense.
Thomas’ performance in the Drew League was reminiscent of his Boston days.
Thomas – who appeared in 22 total games with the Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks last season – finished with 45 points.
