Review of the last year

Matt Fitzpatrick is the defending champion and won the 2022 US Open at the Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Fitzpatrick got his first major title with 6 under par 274. After Fitzpatrick saved the 72nd hole, Will Zalatoris had a chance to send the tournament into the playoffs, but his 14-foot birdie putt slipped off the left side of the hole, giving Fitzpatrick a one-shot win.

Scottie Scheffler took second place with Zalatoris with 5 under par 275. Hideki Matsuyama finished fourth with 3 under 277. Rory McIlroy And Collin Morikawa tied for fifth place with 2 under 278.

About the course

Not only is this the first time that Los Angeles Country Club has hosted the US Open, it is also only the second time in its 123-year history that the tournament has been held in the Los Angeles area.

The last time the US Open was played in the Los Angeles area was in 1948 at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Country Club has not hosted a PGA Tour event since 1940. It was the venue for the Los Angeles Open, today’s Genesis Invitational, five times.

There are two 18-hole courses at the Country Club, the North Course and the South Course. The tournament will be played on the par 70 North Course, which is 7,200 yards long.

Who are the US Open favorites?

Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler, the last two Masters winners, are the betting favorites to win the US Open FOX bet.

Rahm (Masters 2023) and Scheffler (Masters 2022) each have odds of +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total).

Four-time Major champion Rory McIlroy has the third-best odds at +1000.

What about Tiger Woods?

Tiger Woods has great chances of winning the US Open. He is listed at +8000 odds FOX bet.

However, it is unknown if the 15-time major champion will play at the US Open.

Woods made the cut at the Masters in April but retired with 29 holes to go. After retiring from the Masters due to pain, Woods underwent a subtalar fusion According to his Twitter account, he is dealing with post-traumatic arthritis in his ankle.

Due to ankle surgery, he did not compete in the 2023 PGA Championship.
