Two years after Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in significant leg and ankle injuries, he will serve this week in the Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
It will be Tiger’s first round of competition since The Open in July when he missed the cut at St Andrews in Scotland.
Think Tiger is on the Riviera to wave to the crowd, shake hands with sponsors and serve as golf ambassadors? No, the 47-year-old is supposed to bring the trophy home on Sunday.
“I wouldn’t have sat down here if I didn’t think I could beat these guys,” Tiger said.
But what are Tiger’s odds of winning? Top 10 placement? Is the cut missing? Let’s answer all these questions from a betting perspective.
“At +11000 Tiger is certainly far from winning the tournament,” FOX bet said senior trading operations manager Dylan Brosman. “In fact, he has the same chances of making the top 10 (+1000) as Scottie Scheffler does to win the whole thing. Riviera is a notoriously difficult track and one Tiger hasn’t had much success at. At 23 the under With the top 25 golfers on the field, just making the cut at The Genesis would be a win for Tiger.”
Other bets on tigers have some value, Brossman said. FOX Bet offers a Betting Boost to Tiger making the cut and paying +200 (bet $10 to win $30 total) if Woods plays through the weekend.
“If Tiger makes the cut, I’ll be watching closely how his body holds up,” Brossman said. “If he looks physically fit maybe his experience at Riviera can put him in the top 20.”
Despite questions about his game’s form, bettors still like to bet on the 15-time major champion. BetMGM said sports retailer Tristan Davis.
“Bets on Tiger come in at +15000,” Davis said. “People will be looking for a hefty price for him to make the cut; both markets are likely to be a big drag for BetMGM.”
Tiger only contested nine rounds of competition in 2022 while recovering from the car accident. Woods withdrew from the Hero World Challenge in December because of plantar fasciitis, but played – with a cart – alongside his son Charlie in the two-round PNC father/son championship, where they finished eighth.
Here’s a look at different ways to bet on Woods at the tournament, as well as outright winners to win all about FOX Bet.

Tiger has an added incentive to play well this week. Riviera is one of his favorite spots, and he made his PGA Tour debut there in 1992 as a 16-year-old sophomore with a sponsorship waiver.
Woods has hosted the tournament since 2017. Tiger has played 13 times as a pro on the Riviera but is yet to win there, finishing second once and in the top 10 three times. Will this be the weekend he breaks through?
Brossman shared his thoughts on betting on tigers.
“Take the boost,” explained the odds maker. “Tiger will string together two solid days to get him into the weekend, but his body won’t last a full four days.”
Who else to sprinkle a few bucks on? Brossman shared his best bets.
“I’m expecting a big boost from Patrick Cantlay; getting a top five golfer (fifth in OWGR) at 25-1 is hard to beat,” explained the golf enthusiast. “Cantlay ranks first in GIR%, which should serve him well at Riviera.”
