F1 News: Top 10 stats ahead of Canadian Grand Prix – Red Bull nearing a century of F1 wins

1. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve has hosted more Grands Prix (41) than any other circuit outside of Europe. It is likely to surpass the Nürburgring and take fifth place in the all-time list of venues with the most F1 races.

2. Since 2005, every pole sitter in Montreal has either been or later become a world champion.

3. Should Max Verstappen win the Canadian Grand Prix, it would be his 41st win of his career, putting him level with Ayrton Senna in fifth place on the list of most F1 wins.

4. A win for Red Bull in this race would mark their 100th win in Formula 1, joining the ranks of Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Mercedes, the only others to have achieved this feat.

5. This is one of Lewis Hamilton’s better tracks as he has started from the top five every time. He has finished on the podium every time he has finished here except once (P5 in 2018).

6. Sergio Perez never managed to qualify above 8th place in Canada. His last point ranking here dates back to 2017.

7. Red Bull could also become the third team in F1 history to win all the first eight races of a season. McLaren (1988) and Mercedes (2019) are the only other teams to have achieved this.

8. If Hamilton emerges victorious this time, it would be his eighth win at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, which would set the record for most wins by a driver at a single circuit.

9. Lance Stroll has scored in three of his four home races. The only other Canadian to score more times at home

10. For the first time in the hybrid era we had three races in a row (Spain, Monaco, Miami) without a single VSC or SC period.
