This dynamic new series offers a unique watch for each national team, limited to 150 pieces per watch.
“As Breitling’s boundless all-purpose sports watch, the Chronomat Six Nations is the ideal complement for the fast and fearless world of rugby,” said Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling.
The stainless steel watches have all the hallmark Chronomat features: the raised rider tabs at the 15-minute markers, the grippy onion crown, the triple-registered dial with integrated date at 6 o’clock, and the classic Rouleaux bracelet – all powered by Breitling’s exceptional manufacture Caliber 01.
Each model features a dial that reflects the colors of each union, with the logo positioned on both the sub-dial at 9 o’clock and the sapphire crystal caseback.
MEET THE RUGBY TEAM
The personality behind this collection is the new Breitling Rugby Squad, a crew of seven notable players from all Six Nations rugby unions and governing bodies who will represent the Chronomat in their home countries.
Representing Wales, top scorer George North; from Ireland, three-time champion Conor Murray; from England, powerhouse prop master Kyle Sinckler; from Italy, star fly-half Paolo Garbisi, who made his Test debut in 2020; from France, Gaël Fickou, a 2022 Grand Slam winner; from Scotland, Hamish Watson, the 2021 Championship Player; and also from Scotland, Stuart Hogg, was twice named the Championship’s top performer.
Breitling’s role as Six Nations Rugby’s official timing partner includes the Six Nations Championship, TikTok Women’s Six Nations, Autumn Nations Series and Rugby World Cup 2023 warm-up matches.
The high-performance action of the Six Nations rugby competitions combined with the values of sportsmanship and inclusivity drove Breitling to the partnership. The two also share a common heritage: the watch brand was founded in 1884, while the championship can trace its roots back to 1883 a year earlier.
The Chronomat was originally designed as the official watch of the Frecce Tricolori, the famous Italian aerobatic team. Not only popular with pilots, the Chronomat tachymeter also aroused the interest of Formula 1 teams in the 1980s and 1990s.
Its reversible rider tabs, allowing “count up” or “count down” functions, also made it ideal for diving and sailing regattas. Since then, the Chronomat has been Breitling’s most diverse sports watch, associated with athletes who push the limits of human endurance in the air, on land and at sea.
The Chronomat Six Nations houses the Manufacture Breitling Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer that delivers an impressive power reserve of around 70 hours and carries a five-year guarantee. The 42mm case and Rouleaux bracelet are made of stainless steel.
The hands are coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova® and, like all Chronomat models, are water-resistant to 200 meters. Each case back is specially engraved with the name of the union “Six Nations” and the limitation “One of 150”.
The Chronomat Six Nations is available in the UK and select EU countries. The Six Nations Championship begins on February 4 when Wales host Ireland. The series runs through March 19, followed by the TikTok Women’s Six Nations, which begins March 25.
